Parking in downtown Syracuse can be difficult to find a spot because of the lack of on street parking, which forces people to have to pay to park in expensive parking garages.

The city of Syracuse is trying to ease these parking issues by adding diagonal parking on nine blocks downtown. The diagonal parking was designed so you back into the space and face outward towards traffic. The reverse parking design was meant to be safer than traditional parallel parking and is supposed to add about 55 more spaces.
